Squeezed into this for my wedding and it did help get an extra inch off. Be sure to find a size that is more like the size you want to be and not the size you currently are. Though also understand that you need to fit into it and this isn't magic. I tried on several different men's shapewear and picked this one because it had the best performance to comfort over any of the others. Some others got me looking thinner but I felt like I couldn't breathe or was critically overheating or it looked really strange under my shirt. This one did the job and didn't feel too bad and it looked great as an undershirt!
