I bought these because I liked the fabric pattern (blue paisley) and wanted something a little bit more modest than a 2" inseam for when I work out at a hotel. I do a vigorous cardio workout and found the extra layers at the waist to be warmer than my standard shorts (too warm for me). The extra layers also made the shorts dry more slowly than I liked. The upside would be that the pocket at the waist would be nice if I needed it.I am 5'0" tall and 100 lbs. The small fit, but I wasn't feeling much/any compression from it.
