Best at this price point ($50-75). I've tried comparable brands (CW-X, 2XU, Puma, etc...) and these are at the top of my list along side the Puma Tech ACTV. I really like the simulated athletic tape of the Puma but the compression of the Skins is better. So, if your just looking for a good fit and compression at a reasonable price A200 is the way to go. (If you're not picky about colour then Amazon often has the basic black right around $50. Just bought another pair, while writing this review.)These are a base layer, dark colours black and grey are opaque enough to wear alone but white is a little shear on the legs (tattoo is clearly visible) and more opaque waist to crouch but, a good amount of sweat/water and its wet underwear contest time.Pocket could be a little easier to access (mostly reaching around back and trying to get your ID/credit card under the top flap -to keep it from bouncing out- and into the pocket) but does securely hold credit card, ID and a key without movement. Honestly I don't think there is a good place for pocket in compression shorts. As for care, I throw them in a laundry bag (otherwise know as a pillowcase tied off, recently upgraded to a fabric bag a set of sheets came in) and in with all my other clothes normal wash, hang to dry (only takes an hour or two). They get this treatment once or twice a week for the past four to six months with no signs of deterioration.I bought these because I needed a compression short (to avoid re-injury) but running with compression shorts under regular running shorts seemed too hot. The UA compression shorts were too thin (see through) to wear on their own. I bought these hoping they'd be like jammers or tri suits that can be worn on their own. They are so these are just what I hoped for.My first run I definitely noticed how much cooler running with these shorts were and the compression/support was great. I haven't had them long enough to know about durability yet ... so my 5 stars rating is only conditional on some reasonable durability. These shorts have a seam in the center crotch area, which doesn't seem like a great idea except that it does give a guy more comfort room in that location for his privates. I was concerned that the seam might chafe my privates while running but it didn't seem to be a problem. A larger than average endowed guy might think otherwise.I intend to buy 1 or two more for regular runs.I got this for long runs and some CrossFit WOD's (workout). I gotta say this is a step up from your usual compression shorts. Great for long leg workout.Keeps your muscles warmer avoids the jello-leg feeling,fatigue... Good quality.. Cant compare with other brands because right now this is the only one i have from the top Compression brands like 2XU, BSC etc. This is also the reason I didn't give it a five star because I don't know if they are any better out there.I recommend these to any athlete looking for ways of improving recovery and reducing muscle fatigue. For those of you runners out there looking for good half tights, then look no further, because these are the best pair of tights I've ever had!!!They're compressed (not too compressed but plenty enough to keep things in place) and you DON'T NEED UNDERWEAR UNDERNEATH!!!!!They may be costly but they are an excellent choice for tights and they've even got a pocket on the back inside the shorts where you can put your keys, mp3, money, or cards. My choice for mp3 would be the Kubik Evo 8GB mp3 Player -- https://www.amazon.com/Kubik-Player-Radio-Expandable-MicroSD/dp/B0041MMMWW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480143707&sr=8-1&keywords=kubik+evo+8gb+mp3+player Because it is a perfect fit (plus space for headphone jack) for the tights. They definitely are a very good product and great value for the price and true compression short with a noticeable difference during workouts. Be sure to buy at least one size larger that the chart recommends especially if you have an athletic lower body build otherwise it is a extremely snug fit. That is the reason I rated this a 4 star instead of 5. I bought them for my intense 25 minute non-stop workouts and they have performed well. This is my second pair of the compression half tights. The first pair I had lasted approx. 5 years, and I wore them a lot (for running, probably an avg. of 10 mile per week), they were the most durable piece of equipment I owned. The new pair feels like the material is a bit different but still very comfortable and great looks. True to size. Get them. I know Skins are a bit more expensive but their stuff is great quality and lasts a long time.First impressions when I tried them on was they are comfortable. Compression to my thighs and hamstrings not my waist. I have a few pairs of Nike pro combat and feel the compression too much on the waist. Make sure you check skins website for sizing. It's actually a 4.5 stars cause I want just a bit more compression on my thighs and hamstrings. I also got a pair of 2xu to compare.Update probably should of got a smaller size still comfortable but lost its compression. Knocked to 3 stars .I have a very bad hamstring injury that made me stop running, as the pain was too much. I did a lot of research to see which brands were the best and the a200 came up as #1 on a few sites. I have run in them 6-7 times now and feel absolutely no pain at all when I run. I just did 6 miles today and felt like Forrest Gump. These things are incredible and everyone I know has heard about my Magic Pants. In the words of Vincent Laguardia Gambini, I think I bought these from the same guy who sold Jack his bean stalk beans.I have been using Skins compression tights almost exclusively for all sports I've played for the last 5 years and have not looked back ever since. My waist fits between 30" and 32" - the Medium has been a perfect size.Previously, I had used Under Armour Heatgear compression shorts. These were a little cheaper and were made well however the fit does not compare to the Skins shorts. I have an athletic build and did not find the UA shorts to adequately fit around my legs or provide sufficient support to my gentleman's area. This proved problematic when weightlifting, anything with dynamic or explosive movements or any long distance running as the shorts would ride up and I would need to reconfigure myself, so to speak. The A200 shorts are well priced for the fit and compression which they provide. The ventilation which they provide is not quite as good as the Under Armour Heatgear shorts, however as the material is slightly thinner (though no less durable) heat transfer is adequate. These fit snugly around my posterior and stay in place without riding up my thighs. If you have the extra money to spend (or find a top offer), go for the A400 shorts instead. They really are on another level which the Under Armour and A200 shorts fall below. The A400 shorts fit even better and provide even more compression and support. This is not to say that the A200 shorts are lacking, it is understandable given these are the mid-tier Skins offering. In conclusion, these shorts are great and are well worth the investment. I've had three pairs now, each for a number of years and they have worn well. I was them on a 40 degree cycle (should probably handwash) and they have largely retained their original colour and printed design logos, despite frequent use and abuse (5+ times per week). As long as they continue to fit well, I'm not too bothered about losing a logo or branding after a couple of years use, but if you are bothered, I suggest washing by hand.I've used these shorts for running, weightlifting, ultimate frisbee, basketball, squash, tennis, badminton, cycling...the list goes on. If you have the extra money to spend, upgrade to the A400, if you don't, these will still deliver without question.A first time user of compression tech-clothing for running (but have used for cycling a few years ago).Size purchased: Medium. My waist: 31" to 32". I'm fairly short at 5ft 4". Fit is snug but not overtight. These Skins are very comfortable - an ultra smooth feel to the material. I could possibly have gone for the Small size (not entirely sure), but these Mediums do fit well enough and do certainly apply a reasonable level of compression (this is more noticeable when taking them off than when you put them on.) - and that's the only reason for docking one star for this review, as sizing requires a bit of reading the reviews/size chart and bit of guess work. As mentioned, I might be able to use the small for higher compression.I bought these to help reduce the risk of leg injury from running (which I'm very new to, only a few months so far), having previously suffered a small quads strain (recovered after some Physio treatment). These don't ride up or shift around, or chafe - excellent from that perspective. Also good - they don't use rubber on the inner legs seams like my cycling shorts do - I guess the grip is all within the compression weave of the material itself. A wide elastic waist band (about 1" or 2.5cm deep), which has a key pocket on the inner right side at the back, which is handy if you don't have any other way of securely carrying a door/car key. (pretty small though, so no big bunch of keys on a keyring, or long mortice-type key.)Chose the free delivery option and they arrived a couple of days ahead of due date, so was very pleased to get them earlier than expected.Fantastic compression shorts. I train alot.* Rugby* Obstacle course races* Running* Badminton* Squash* Weight trainingand I wear these for all activities. I have the longer leg set too and they are great. The benefit of compression garments is still up for discussion, personally I think they help. But the biggest benefit of these shorts is that they cut out any leg chaffing. If you're a big guy or girl like me (big bloke, big legs) then it stops your legs from chaffing, cutting and eventually bleeding on long runs or cold, wet days out on the rugby pitch. The top of the shorts are elastic with a gripper so they dont slip too much. They don't come up too high but they felt fine. There are no pockets for a gym key or house key which is a shame (my reason for dropping a star). As for quality - they are up there with the best if not they are the best. Skins are a huge name in technical clothing. They are very durable, I wore these during the 30km Bear Grylls Survival Race, crawling through dry mud, bushes, jumping fire etc and they still look new after a good wash. They are good for moisture wicking although for me, I am not too concerned about that - I just want them to be comfortable.I would rebuy these if I lost them. I do recommend them. There are cheaper versions, but these are spot on.I'm not a fanatical runner by any account but decided to buy these given some training need for an endurance event and researching the benefits of compression sportswear. Please refer to the SKINS website for technical specs and sizing information. I was reassured by the efforts that SKINS do seem to go into with respect to researching and designing their products versus reading reviews of cheaper items that didn't actually appear to compress properly. I'm 5ft 8in and 70kg and the medium size fits very snuggly - which is the point after all. They're well made with flat stitching and I've not suffered from any chaffing or rubbing at all. They don't restrict running movement in any way and whilst when you first put them on you think that they may preoccupy you, as soon as you get running you're unaware that you're wearing them. As for the results, I'm running 2hr sessions 3-4 times per week and not suffering from any DOMS or cramping which I was prone to previously. These were the first product that I bought from Skins range of compression clothing. I use them for running, and cannot really gauge how much of an improvement they make to my performance, but they just make me feel like a pro, and that can only help! They fit very well, provide a considerable, but still comfortable, amount of compression, and still have the usual mini pocket for keys. I have since bought the long tights, the recovery tights (these are the ones I get the most use out of) and a compression top. I've tried a couple of other brands of compression gear, and find that these are the best by a long way.
